Working with artists

I’ve been a picture framing in Sheffield for the last 12 years, often working directly with artists to deliver framing for new works and exhibitions. I’ve been lucky to forge long lasting relationships with these artists and now call many of them my friends. The joy of working with artists over a long period of time is that you get to see their practice develop and are often one of the first people to see new works.

In March 2022, I had the pleasure of working with Andy Welland to provide bespoke picture framing for his exhibition of Bloc Gallery, Sheffield. Andy Welland is an artist and designer who has worked with international brands and created large scale public artworks across the country.

Despite already having a long career, Brighter in Real Life was Andy’s first solo exhibition. Bringing together original works on paper, sculpture and plastersine.

Over the years we have create a ‘house style’ for Andy’s work. Given it’s bold and vibrant look, we have always opted for simple and clean white frames, using either spacers to create box frames or mount cards for a more conventional framing option.
